I know -7 might not be cold to most people but in the uk its very cold. Shortly after taking this photo myself and my girlfriend found ourselves caught in the heaviest mist i have ever seen. All we could see was white and we were surrounded by miles of white fields and lakes hidden by snow. I tried to remain calm as to not scare her but on the inside i was pretty scared. Using the stars to navigate i managed to get us to a castle which was only visible from 40 feet away due to the mist and darkness. At one stage i was going to call the police as we were worn out and the temperature was dropping. After what seemed like miles of walking with nothing but white and a few stars we managed to get back to a recognizable path, my beard had frozen and gone white like a mountain climbers and my girlfriends hair and eyelashes had also. The relief of getting home was immense. My camera had frozen with a layer of thin ice covering it and my tripod was iced up completely!
